Who we are, why we fell for Mar Menor, and the story of our little paper flower.
We're Mark and Louise, based on the Isle of Man. We'd always dreamed of a place in the Spanish sun — somewhere warm, unhurried, with great golf on the doorstep.
We stumbled across Mar Menor Golf Resort and fell for it on our first visit — the sunshine, the fairways, the easy pace of life, and that first cold drink on the terrace as the sun went down. We haven't looked back since.
Casa Calida is our home in the Costa Cálida and we're genuinely delighted to share it. We hope it feels as special to you as it does to us — and if there's anything we can do to make your stay better, just ask.
The small flower you'll see across this site is a nod to our town. Every October, Torre-Pacheco's Fiestas Patronales fills the streets with parade floats decorated entirely in hand-rolled paper flowers — thousands of them, made by hand over months. It's a tradition found nowhere else in Spain.
It felt like the right symbol for Casa Calida: local, handmade, and a little bit sunny.
We're passionate about looking after this beautiful part of Spain. Casa Calida runs on solar power, and we'd love your help while you're here — closing doors when the aircon is running, being mindful with water, and using the communal recycling bins all make a real difference.
Small things, done by everyone, add up.
